Apple is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join their IT team, focusing on Mobile Device Management and IT Asset Management platforms. You'll work with AWS, Docker, and various database technologies to ensure high availability and performance. This role requires experience in modern DevOps practices and infrastructure management.
You have a strong background in DevOps engineering, with experience in managing critical infrastructure for Mobile Device Management (MDM) and IT Asset Management (ITAM) platforms. Your expertise in modern DevOps practices enables you to design and maintain robust, scalable, and secure systems that support enterprise device lifecycles. You are familiar with container orchestration and cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS, and understand the importance of high availability and performance in core services.
You possess knowledge of database technologies such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, and you are comfortable working with NoSQL databases. Your experience with microservices architecture and event-driven systems allows you to contribute effectively to the design and implementation of complex solutions. You are also skilled in using monitoring solutions like Prometheus and Grafana to ensure system reliability and performance tuning.
You thrive in collaborative environments, working alongside experienced engineers to influence technical direction and contribute to the growth of the team. You are eager to take ownership of projects and are motivated by the impact your work has on Apple employees worldwide.
A B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent work experience is preferred, as well as familiarity with software distribution processes and security practices in device management. Experience with performance tuning and monitoring solutions will set you apart as a candidate.
In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure that powers Apple's device lifecycle and asset tracking systems. You will leverage your knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly AWS, to manage compute, networking, and storage services effectively. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the high availability and performance of core services that support a large number of devices across various operating systems, including macOS, iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, and visionOS.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the unique needs of different business units and develop solutions that meet those needs. Your role will involve implementing modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code, to streamline deployment processes and enhance system reliability.
You will also be responsible for monitoring system performance and implementing tuning strategies to optimize resource usage. Your contributions will help maintain the security and efficiency of the systems that enable Apple employees to work effectively.
