Neuralink is seeking a Design Engineer Intern to conceptualize and prototype novel computing interfaces for brain-computer interaction. This role requires collaboration with domain experts and a passion for exploring multi-disciplinary design challenges.
You are an aspiring design engineer with a strong interest in creating innovative computing interfaces tailored for brain-computer interaction (BCI). You possess a passion for exploring open-ended, multi-disciplinary spaces where design choices are informed by various constraints, including neural structure and model architecture. You have an intuitive sense for the level of fidelity required when navigating complex design challenges, whether it be through conversations, rough sketches, or testable prototypes. You are excited to work within and push the boundaries of a new medium of interaction, understanding the unique challenges posed by the absence of traditional sensory feedback from physical input devices. You thrive in collaborative environments, actively engaging with domain experts to understand constraints and design solutions that meet user needs.
As a Design Engineer Intern at Neuralink, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, prototyping, and shipping novel computing interfaces that enable users with paralysis to interact with technology through thought alone. You will collaborate closely with the BCI Applications Team, which spans disciplines from neuroscience to software engineering. Your role will involve understanding the technical and design constraints of BCI systems and creatively navigating these challenges to develop user-friendly interfaces. You will participate in brainstorming sessions, contribute to design discussions, and help create prototypes that can be tested and refined based on user feedback. Your work will play a crucial role in advancing the capabilities of BCI technology and improving the lives of individuals with disabilities.
Neuralink provides a dynamic and innovative work environment where you can contribute to groundbreaking technology. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative setting, gaining valuable insights and skills in design engineering and BCI technology. We offer competitive compensation, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, and a supportive culture that encourages creativity and exploration. As an intern, you will have the chance to make a meaningful impact on the development of life-changing technologies while building your professional network and experience in the field.
