You are an Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems, ready to take on the challenge of maintaining mission-critical technology infrastructure. Your hands-on experience with troubleshooting and operating complex systems makes you a critical guardian of technological infrastructure. You have a background in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering, with experience in maintaining and troubleshooting systems such as diesel generators, UPSs, and three-phase electrical systems. Your familiarity with cooling systems, including CRAC units and centrifugal chillers, equips you to handle the diverse challenges presented in a data center environment. You are detail-oriented and possess strong problem-solving skills, allowing you to quickly identify and resolve issues that may arise.
Experience with data center operations or similar environments is a plus, as is familiarity with AWS infrastructure services. As an Engineering Operations Technician at Amazon, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the heartbeat of our mission-critical technology infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include operating and troubleshooting various electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring that all equipment functions optimally to support our data center operations. You will work closely with a diverse team of engineers and specialists, collaborating to maintain an extraordinary 99.999% uptime for our services.
You will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of stand-by diesel generators and related fuel systems, ensuring they are ready to support our operations at all times. Your expertise will extend to three-phase electrical systems, including switch gear, UPSs, PDUs, and wet cell batteries. You will also manage cooling systems, such as centrifugal chillers and cooling towers, to maintain the ideal environment for our data center equipment.
In this role, you will be on the front line of troubleshooting, addressing any issues that arise with electrical and mechanical equipment. Your hands-on approach will be essential in maintaining the reliability of our data centers, and you will have the opportunity to work on some of the most challenging problems in the industry.
