Job Description

The Amazon First Mile team is looking for a First Mile Operations Manager to set higher standards and ensure that every customer and seller across the country receive the speed, quality, and reliability they expect from Amazon.

As an SPC EDSP First Mile Operations Leader, you will oversee and drive the expansion of the First Mile network through our EDSP (External Delivery Service Partner) program nationwide. The EDSP structure is a hybrid operation that leverages Amazon technology to enable first-mile partners to operate regionally, picking up sellers' packages and ensuring high-quality service for our customers and sellers in Brazil.

You will manage two distribution methods within our logistics network: the SPC (Seller Processing Center) and Pickup Nodes.

Key job responsibilities
- Manage a pool of more than 30 EDSPs for seller pickups;
- Build strong partnerships with 3P operational leaders and Amazon stakeholders, fostering agile problem-solving to prevent issues that could impact customer and seller experience;
- Innovate to enhance customer and seller experience while reducing operational costs;
- Analyze and resolve operational barriers, with a strong focus on identifying root causes;
- Build strong mechanisms and KPIs to enhance daily operations;
- Communicate efficiently across different audiences, including operations staff, support teams, and senior leadership;
- Benchmark against other countries and industry players to optimize our operational network;
- Actively review current distribution methods and network design to support Amazon's continuous growth, ensuring sufficient equipment supply to meet demand;
- Define short-, medium-, and long-term strategies to sustain and support our growing demand;
- Lead a diverse network of logistics partners, ensuring compliance, delivery quality, and a strong focus on user experience.

A day in the life
The day of a leader in the First Mile area will be dynamic, alternating (1) operational activities, such as Gembas and managing partners' routines, (2) tactical activities, such as building mechanisms for operational efficiency, and (3) strategic activities, such as active participation in strategic planning cycles for expanding and consolidating the EDSP partner network. It is important to note that the leader will be required to travel +30% of his/her time, in order to allow proximity to partners and easy identification of opportunities for operational improvement.- Bachelor's degree preferably in Supply Chain, Engineering or Logistics;
- Experienced in Distribution and/or Fulfillment processes, ideally in fast-paced eCommerce environment;
- Proven analysis and problem-solving skills;
- Fluent in Portuguese and English;
- High level of written, verbal and interpersonal skills;
- Availability to travel and work from different locations.- Master's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field.
