Job Description

The Global Purchasing Program (GPP) Org acquires inventory in bulk from manufacturers, vendors, and sellers and makes them available in international Amazon marketplaces. This involves continuously enhancing the customer experience in the respective marketplace by expanding selection, reducing delivery times, and costs. If so, the Global Purchasing Program (GPP) is seeking a Software Development Engineer who wants to stretch both their technical abilities and their business know-how to implement creative global solutions and act as a leader of leaders.

It is through our innovative solutions that we seek to delight our global customers by offering relevant and rich selection of products and reducing delivery times.

Key job responsibilities
Software Development & Implementation
* Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code
* Build scalable microservices and APIs
* Implement error handling and logging
* Contribute to code reviews and testing
* Debug and resolve production issues

System Design & Architecture
* Design and develop distributed system components
* Create efficient database schemas and queries
* Integrate with AWS cloud services
* Optimize application performance
* Implement security best practices

Technical Collaboration
* Work within agile development teams
* Participate in design discussions and code reviews
* Document technical solutions and APIs
* Mentor junior developers when needed
* Communicate technical concepts effectively

A day in the life
The bulk of an average day is centered around designing and building new features/services and enhancing existing solutions.
· Working on ad-hoc requests and bug fixes
· Participating in doc reviews with product managers and stakeholders
· Supporting and delegating tickets while on-call
· Team meetings and presentations/learning sessions

About the team
Our team, GPP-Tech, enjoys a transparent, collaborative and rewarding culture. We pride ourselves on having an open and ongoing dialogue with our stakeholders including business and Product teams to build trust and innovate on behalf of our eventual customers. Someone who joins this team will be engaged with engineers and stakeholders dedicated to supporting our Emerging Country Growth businesses; focusing on delivery optimization and emerging business needs with a balance of scrappy vs long term supported solutions.- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
