Senior Software Engineer

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in backend development, and you thrive in environments where quality and speed are paramount. Your expertise in Golang is complemented by a solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS and GCP, which you have utilized to build scalable systems. You are familiar with CI/CD practices and have experience in deploying applications in a hybrid environment. You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys mentoring others and setting high standards for design and code quality.

You have a strong background in designing and operating backend services that are both reliable and efficient. Your experience includes leading projects that focus on reducing latency and improving system performance. You are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams and have a track record of delivering complex projects on time. You understand the importance of observability and monitoring in maintaining system health and are skilled in creating clear runbooks for on-call rotations.

Desirable

Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration is a plus, as is familiarity with microservices architecture. You may also have experience with performance optimization techniques and cost management in cloud environments. What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of large-scale backend projects at HackerRank. You will be responsible for ensuring that our core services are fast, reliable, and cost-efficient, impacting millions of developers worldwide. You will work closely with other engineering teams to implement best practices in software development and operations, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality features.

You will take ownership of the entire project lifecycle, from initial design through to deployment and monitoring. You will also participate in the on-call rotation, ensuring that our systems remain operational and performant.

Collaboration is key in this position, as you will partner with product managers and other stakeholders to align on project goals and deliverables.
