Overview

Opendoor is seeking a Senior SOX & Internal Auditor to lead SOX compliance and internal audit transformation through AI-driven automation. You'll utilize SQL, Python, and emerging AI/ML technologies to optimize controls over financial reporting and operational processes in Phoenix.

Job Description

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in auditing and SOX compliance, demonstrating a strong understanding of financial controls and operational processes. Your technical expertise in SQL and Python allows you to build automated controls that enhance efficiency and accuracy in compliance tasks. You are familiar with AI and machine learning technologies, leveraging them to innovate and improve audit processes. You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively with business owners, data engineering teams, and external auditors. Your proactive approach to problem-solving helps you identify risks and implement effective controls. You are committed to continuous learning and staying updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes.

Desirable

Experience with Big 4 auditing firms is a plus, as is familiarity with advanced data analytics tools. Knowledge of emerging technologies in the audit space will set you apart, as will any certifications related to internal auditing or compliance.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead and manage the SOX 404/302 program execution across various business functions. This includes conducting risk assessments, designing controls, and ensuring thorough SOX documentation such as flowcharts and control matrices. You will coordinate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and year-end audits, serving as the primary point of contact for walkthroughs and testing support. Your hands-on approach will involve executing internal audit engagements that cover financial controls and operational processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. You will also be responsible for deficiency remediation and management reporting, providing insights to enhance the control environment. By implementing AI-driven automation, you will work to eliminate manual control tasks and establish continuous monitoring processes that leverage machine learning for exception detection and control validation.

What we offer

At Opendoor, you will be part of a mission-driven team focused on modernizing the control environment for a high-velocity real estate technology platform. We offer a collaborative work environment where your contributions will directly impact our operations and success. You will have opportunities for professional growth and development, as well as access to resources that support your career advancement. Our office in Phoenix provides a dynamic setting where you can engage with colleagues and participate in team-building activities. We value diversity and encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement. Join us in shaping the future of homeownership and making a difference in people's lives.
