SpaceX is hiring a GNC Engineer to develop innovative guidance, navigation, and control systems for the Starship vehicle. You'll work with C, C++, MATLAB, and Python to push the boundaries of flight control systems. This role requires experience in aerospace engineering and simulation modeling.

You have a strong background in aerospace engineering with experience in developing guidance, navigation, and control systems for complex vehicles. Your expertise in programming languages such as C, C++, MATLAB, and Python allows you to implement innovative solutions that enhance flight performance. You thrive in collaborative environments, working alongside talented engineers to solve challenging problems and push the limits of technology. You are comfortable with multi-disciplinary investigations and can adapt quickly to new challenges in fast-paced settings. Your analytical skills enable you to conduct thorough performance analysis and trajectory assessments, ensuring the reliability of flight systems. You are committed to continuous improvement and enjoy learning from post-flight data reviews to refine your predictions and methodologies.

Desirable

Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing and Monte Carlo analysis is a plus, as is familiarity with simulation modeling for GNC systems. A passion for space exploration and a desire to contribute to missions that enable human life on Mars will set you apart in this role.

What you'll do

As a GNC Engineer at SpaceX, you will be responsible for developing and analyzing flight control systems for the Starship vehicle. You will engage in multi-disciplinary investigations to define systems architecture and implement new software or algorithms that enhance mission capabilities. Your role will involve creating 6-DOF dynamics simulation models to validate GNC systems and analyzing launch vehicle trajectories to ensure optimal performance. You will conduct post-flight data reviews, correlating your analyses with actual flight data to improve future predictions. Supporting launch and mission operations will be a key part of your responsibilities, as you work closely with the operations team to ensure successful missions. You will also perform rigorous testing of GNC software, utilizing hardware-in-the-loop testing and Monte Carlo analysis to validate system performance.
