Venn is seeking a Founding Business Development Representative to drive lead generation and new business opportunities. You'll work closely with the sales team to shape outbound strategies and improve processes. This role requires at least 1 year of experience in a BDR or software sales role.

Job Description

Who you are

You have at least 1 year of experience in a Business Development Representative (BDR), Sales Development Representative (SDR), or software sales role, ideally as an early sales hire at a fast-growing startup. You possess a strong record of consistently generating leads and new business opportunities through high-impact outbound outreach. Your experience includes working with or selling into small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), and you have a background in fintech, banking, or financial services. You are eager to experiment, iterate, and improve outbound processes, tooling, and messaging to drive success.

Desirable

Experience in a fast-paced startup environment is a plus, as is familiarity with the challenges and opportunities in the fintech space. You are a proactive individual who thrives in a dynamic setting and is excited about the prospect of shaping the future of business banking in Canada.

What you'll do

In this role, you will generate leads and new business opportunities through high-impact outbound outreach, qualifying potential leads to ensure they are a great fit for Venn's products and services. You will identify and research target companies to continuously expand our outbound prospect list, playing a foundational role in defining what great looks like for future BDRs at Venn. You will partner closely with Account Executives and the wider sales team to improve the outbound BDR strategy, contributing to the overall growth and success of the company. Your efforts will directly impact the sales motion and help shape the future of banking in Canada.
