Sr. Software Engineer (FHIR/Interoperability)

You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on building and maintaining robust systems. Your background includes working with FHIR standards and interoperability, allowing you to effectively contribute to projects that enhance government services. You are skilled in Java and have a solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, ensuring that the solutions you develop are secure and reliable.

You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with fellow engineers and government partners to architect and implement new systems. You are proactive in creating tools and processes that automate development workflows, enhancing team productivity.

You are comfortable participating in on-call rotations, demonstrating your commitment to supporting production systems and resolving issues as they arise. What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer at Nava, you will collaborate with a team of engineers to design, review, and build high-quality software solutions. Your role will involve working directly with government partners to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements. You will be responsible for architecting and implementing new systems, as well as improving existing ones to enhance user experiences.

You will participate in agile ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning and retrospectives to ensure continuous improvement within the team. Your expertise in Java will be crucial as you develop and maintain applications that adhere to FHIR standards, facilitating interoperability between systems.

In addition to coding, you will create efficient tools and processes to automate development, testing, and production workflows. This will involve leveraging your knowledge of cloud infrastructure to ensure that the systems you build are scalable and fault-tolerant. You will also engage in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and fostering a culture of learning and growth within the team.

Your commitment to quality will be evident as you participate in production support, investigating and resolving issues that arise in a timely manner. You will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and helping them develop their skills.
