Benchling is hiring a Security Engineer to support their security program and safeguard sensitive data. You'll collaborate with Product Security Engineers and Software Engineers to implement security features in AWS. This role requires experience in security architecture and tool development.
You have a strong background in security engineering, with experience in building and maintaining security tools and infrastructure. You understand the importance of safeguarding sensitive data and have a proven track record of leading complex projects from planning through delivery. Your collaborative spirit allows you to work effectively with Product Security Engineers and Software Engineers to design and implement security features in cloud environments, particularly AWS.
You are passionate about security and have a deep understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements. You thrive in environments where you can mentor teammates and drive architectural decisions that shape robust security solutions. Your ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders is one of your key strengths.
Experience with security frameworks and tools is a plus, as is familiarity with compliance standards relevant to the biotechnology industry. You may also have experience in incident response and vulnerability management, which would further enhance your contributions to the team.
As a Security Engineer at Benchling, you will lead the architecture and development of security tools and infrastructure that support the company's security mission. You will own complex projects end-to-end, ensuring that security measures are integrated into the development lifecycle. Collaborating closely with Product Security Engineers and Software Engineers, you will identify, design, and implement security features and controls in the AWS cloud infrastructure.
You will also be responsible for managing mission-critical security infrastructure, ensuring the overall security of the enterprise environment for both employees and customers. Your role will involve conducting security assessments, identifying vulnerabilities, and implementing remediation strategies to mitigate risks.
In addition, you will mentor junior team members, sharing your expertise and fostering a culture of security awareness within the organization. You will participate in technical partnerships, driving discussions around security architecture and best practices.
