Hibu is seeking an Associate Corporate Counsel to provide legal support across various departments, including contracts and employment matters. This role requires 4-6 years of experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
You are an experienced attorney with 4 to 6 years of experience in a law firm or in-house corporate legal department. You have a strong background in contracts, advising stakeholders across various departments including Commercial, Technology, Product, Operations, Marketing, Human Resources, and Finance. You are knowledgeable in employment matters across multiple jurisdictions, particularly in hiring, performance management, and leaves of absence. You possess excellent communication skills and can effectively collaborate with diverse teams to ensure compliance and mitigate risks. You are detail-oriented and have a strong understanding of corporate governance and regulatory requirements. You are comfortable working in a hybrid model, balancing time between the office and remote work.
In your role as Associate Corporate Counsel at Hibu, you will report directly to the General Counsel and provide legal guidance to various departments within the company. You will be responsible for reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial agreements, ensuring that all contracts align with the company's strategic goals and comply with legal standards. You will advise on employment-related issues, helping to navigate complex legal landscapes across different jurisdictions. Your role will involve consulting with stakeholders to identify legal risks and develop strategies to address them effectively. You will also participate in the development of company policies and procedures, ensuring they are legally sound and reflect best practices. You will work closely with the Procurement team to support contract negotiations and vendor management. Additionally, you will stay updated on relevant legal developments and provide training to staff on compliance matters.
