This role requires strong backend engineering experience and offers a competitive salary of €100k plus stock options.
You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience, particularly with Django, and have a proven track record of building scalable production systems. You understand the intricacies of system architecture and are comfortable taking ownership of your work from development to deployment. Your experience includes monitoring application performance and iterating based on user feedback, ensuring that the features you develop meet the needs of both individual creators and enterprise clients.
Your expertise in Django is complemented by familiarity with monitoring tools like Datadog, which you use to track application performance and make data-driven decisions. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with frontend engineers and product owners to deliver high-quality features that enhance user experience. You are adaptable and open to feedback, continuously seeking ways to improve both your work and the overall product.
You are passionate about technology and its potential to empower users, and you are excited about the opportunity to contribute to a company that has rapidly grown to become a leader in AI photo editing. You value flexible working hours and a remote-friendly culture, which aligns with your work style and personal commitments.
Experience with cloud services and APIs is a plus, as is familiarity with agile development methodologies. You may also have experience in the B2C or B2B sectors, which will help you understand the diverse needs of Photoroom's user base.
As a Senior Django Backend Engineer at Photoroom, you will be responsible for designing and implementing new features that enhance the functionality of our AI photo editing platform. You will collaborate with a team of engineers to ensure that the backend architecture supports the rapid deployment of updates and new features, which occur multiple times a week. Your role will involve coding, testing, and monitoring the performance of the backend systems, using tools like Datadog to gather insights and make informed decisions.
You will take ownership of your projects, from initial design through to deployment and performance monitoring. This means you will be involved in every step of the process, ensuring that the features you develop are not only functional but also optimized for performance and user satisfaction. You will work closely with product owners to understand user needs and translate them into technical requirements, ensuring that the final product meets the expectations of our diverse user base.
You will also participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall improvement of the engineering practices within the team. Your insights and experience will help shape the direction of the backend development efforts, and you will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to foster their growth.
