Experience with GSE Guides and servicing agreements is a plus, as is familiarity with the broader commercial real estate market. You may also have a background in managing teams or overseeing contractors, which would enhance your ability to lead underwriting efforts effectively.

What you'll do

As the Vice President Underwriter at Berkadia, you will be responsible for processing various Borrower consents within the servicing portfolio, including assumptions, ownership transfers, modifications, and collateral changes. You will personally handle or oversee the underwriting of complex and high-profile transactions, ensuring that all underwriting is conducted in strict accordance with loan documentation and internal guidelines. Your role will involve managing the entire Lender consent process, both internally and externally, to facilitate smooth transactions.

You will maintain a pipeline of approximately 25–35 transactions, ensuring that all deals progress efficiently. Your ability to communicate effectively with Berkadia Mortgage Bankers and other stakeholders will be crucial in keeping everyone informed about the progress of underwriting and approval processes. You will also be responsible for ensuring that Lenders' and Investors' credit standards are upheld and that any identified risks are properly mitigated.
