Key job responsibilities
- Design sophisticated prompts that enhance user experiences across interactive platforms and research workflows
- Create evaluation frameworks to test and optimize prompt effectiveness and quality
- Develop language-first content design methodologies that leverage conversational AI principles
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex AI capabilities into user-friendly interactions
- Conduct user research to validate prompt performance and drive continuous improvement- 7+ years of design experience
- Have an available online portfolio
- Experience in delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity
- Experience with UX design of complex workflows
- Technical understanding of AI interaction design principles
- Experience with machine learning frameworks and expertise in refining AI prompts for optimal performance
- Experience designing and prototyping with tools such as Figma, ProtoPie, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar- Background in computational linguistics, natural language processing, or cognitive science
- Experience with conversational AI product development
- Familiarity with design systems and component-based design approaches
- Knowledge of prototyping techniques using front-end technologies
- Understanding of machine learning fundamentals and prompt engineering techniques
- Strong knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs) with demonstrated ability to develop and integrate LLM-based solutions
- Proficient in core programming and machine learning technologies, including Python development, AI prompt engineering, and LLM model optimization
- Demonstrates a hands-on builder approach, effectively communicating ideas through rapid prototyping and iterative design solutions

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
