Job Description

Amazon is seeking a high-judgment, well-organized, self-motivated, and creative digital communicator to manage news-focused social media.

The Global Social Media team, within Amazon’s communications org, oversees dozens of Amazon social accounts across the world on Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, and LinkedIn. This role, based on the North America team, plays a pivotal editorial function—overseeing the coordination of timely news, prioritizing content, and managing the social media execution of Amazon’s highest-profile news, announcements, and narratives.

As a Social Media Manager, you’ll plan and execute engaging and informative social content to strengthen Amazon’s reputation by communicating our top business priorities and real-time news. You'll also lead editorial planning and coordination, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify upcoming news moments and develop that into social-first content. You should also have strong familiarity with AI tools—and be excited about how you can use them to help with identifying trends, creating content, analyzing performance, and streamlining work.

This position is based in either Seattle, WA, or New York, NY.

As a successful candidate, you'll have a proven track record of rolling up your sleeves to strategize and execute bar-raising social content with an emphasis on news and on-camera storytelling. You should live and breathe social, with deep familiarity across content formats (text-only, photos, short- and long-form video, animations, memes, etc.) and tactics (creators/influencers, partnerships, community management, issues management, etc.). You should be editorially sharp, strategically driven, goal-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment. This is a role that requires both strong creative instincts and analytical rigor—on a team that works hard, moves quickly, and has fun.

- Tactical Execution: Utilize creators, partnerships, collaborations, and other creative tactics to extend reach and achieve business goals.
- Advice and Learning: Leverage expertise to help other teams and partners understand social’s role and impact; provide proactive and reactive counsel to internal stakeholders as needed.- 3+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience

- Experience using social analytics tools and leveraging data/insights to inform content development.
- Experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude, Nova, ChatGPT, Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, Runway, etc.) to enhance workflow and content development.
- Experience using design and video editing software, including CapCut, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and native social tools.
