SpaceX is seeking a Wireless Firmware Engineer to develop novel wireless signal processing algorithms for satellite-based connectivity. You'll work with C, C++, and embedded systems to optimize software for performance. This role requires expertise in wireless technologies and signal processing.
You have a strong background in wireless firmware development, with experience in designing and implementing physical layer (PHY) algorithms for satellite-based 4G/5G systems. Your proficiency in C and C++ allows you to develop optimized signal processing algorithms that run efficiently on resource-constrained CPUs. You are comfortable working with embedded Linux systems and have a solid understanding of wireless communication protocols, including LTE and NR.
You possess strong analytical skills, enabling you to develop models and run simulations to validate overall system performance, including modem performance. Your ability to identify and debug complex performance issues across the wireless PHY and MAC layers is a key strength. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with wireless systems engineers and protocol firmware engineers to tackle interdisciplinary challenges.
Experience with satellite communication systems and a deep understanding of wireless signal processing algorithms will set you apart. Familiarity with performance optimization techniques and debugging complex systems will enhance your contributions to the team.
In this role, you will design and implement physical layer algorithms for satellite-based 4G/5G eNodeB/gNodeB systems. You will develop optimized signal processing algorithms that are crucial for ensuring reliable global cellular connectivity from space. Your responsibilities will include designing, implementing, testing, maintaining, and documenting the wireless PHY and MAC layers of the protocol stack.
You will participate in architecture and design discussions, contributing your expertise to accelerate wireless PHY development. Your role will also involve identifying and debugging complex performance issues, ensuring that the systems operate at peak efficiency. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that push the boundaries of wireless technology.
At SpaceX, you will be part of a mission-driven team dedicated to making human life multi-planetary. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, along with opportunities for professional growth and development. You will work in a dynamic environment where your contributions directly impact the future of space exploration and connectivity.
