Desirable

Experience with Istio service mesh is a plus, as is familiarity with traffic management strategies in cloud environments. You may also have a background in network security practices, which will enhance your contributions to the team.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the technical strategy for platform networking, focusing on traffic management and service-to-service communication across multi-cluster EKS environments. You will design and implement solutions that enhance the reliability and performance of Robinhood's services, ensuring that they can scale effectively as the company grows.

You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to provide foundational networking capabilities that are both resilient and transparent. Your work will involve building and evolving the networking infrastructure that powers communication across all Robinhood services, enabling teams to operate microservices seamlessly.

You will also be responsible for overseeing the integration of modern networking technologies and practices into the existing infrastructure. This includes evaluating new tools and frameworks that can improve service reliability and performance, as well as mentoring junior engineers on best practices in platform engineering.
