Overview

SpaceX is hiring a CNC Programmer for the Starlink project to optimize machining programs and procedures. You'll work closely with engineering teams and machinists, utilizing NX CAD/CAM/CAE for CNC parts. This role requires 3+ years of CNC programming experience.

Who you are

You have 3+ years of CNC programming experience, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of CNC machining and programming operations. You are comfortable with complex surfacing, contours, and graphite electrode programming, and you thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with machinists, leads, and engineering teams to enhance productivity.

Your expertise includes the use of NX CAD/CAM/CAE software to program CNC parts, and you are knowledgeable about carbide tools, adjusting speed and feed parameters for optimal tool life. You are proactive in suggesting drawing changes to improve manufacturability and are adept at maintaining revision control on programs and setup sheets.

You possess strong problem-solving skills and are committed to meeting productivity and production goals. You are always looking for ways to improve processes and keep production moving smoothly, alerting management when any issues arise.

Desirable

Experience with Vericut NC files is a plus, as is familiarity with machine fixture tooling as directed by process sheets. A background in tool/die application will also be beneficial in this role.

What you'll do

As a CNC Programmer at SpaceX, you will be responsible for programming CNC parts using NX CAD/CAM/CAE software. You will collaborate with machinists and engineering teams to optimize machining programs and procedures, ensuring that production goals are met efficiently.

You will be tasked with maintaining revision control on programs and setup sheets, and you will use your knowledge of carbide tools to adjust speed and feed parameters for maximum tool life. Your role will involve making suggestions on drawing changes to enhance manufacturability and providing consistent ideas for process improvements.

You will also be involved in machine setup and operation, ensuring that products are consistently moving through the production process. Your ability to alert management when production is inhibited will be crucial in maintaining workflow efficiency.
