Job Description

Who you are

You are a highly motivated student currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree. You are eager to build the foundation of your software engineering career through hands-on experience in a collaborative environment. You thrive in a team setting and are excited about the opportunity to contribute to impactful deliverables at Amazon. You are looking for a program that supports a strong balance between work and school, allowing you to grow both academically and professionally.

Desirable

You have a passion for software development and a desire to learn from experienced engineers. While specific technical skills are not required, a basic understanding of programming concepts will be beneficial. You are open to receiving mentorship and feedback, and you are committed to your personal and professional growth throughout the program.

What you'll do

As a Junior Software Development Engineer, you will be fully integrated into a team where you will write real software and collaborate with experienced engineers. You will participate in the Junior Developer Program (JDP), which is designed to provide you with the opportunity to solve complex technical challenges at Amazon. Your contributions will be meaningful, and you will have the chance to take ownership of your work. The program offers flexible part-time schedules during the school year, allowing you to work 16 hours per week, and full-time employment over the summer, where you will work 40 hours per week. You will receive 1:1 mentorship from a full-time Amazonian throughout your program tenure, ensuring you have the support you need to succeed.

The program includes bi-annual performance reviews designed to support your ongoing growth and development. You will be part of a culture that values mentorship and collaboration, helping you to develop your skills and advance your career in software engineering.
