Formlabs is seeking a Materials Scientist specializing in Photopolymer Development to innovate in 3D printing materials. You'll design and optimize photopolymer formulations and lead the transition of new materials from concept to commercial launch. This role requires experience in polymer development.
You are a scientist or engineer with a strong background in polymer development, eager to innovate in the 3D printing industry. You have experience in designing and optimizing complex materials, and you understand the importance of structure-process-property relationships in materials science. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with product management, hardware, and software teams to push the boundaries of additive manufacturing. You are excited about the potential of materials development to unlock new applications across various industries, including engineering, consumer products, manufacturing, automotive, and healthcare. You are ready to take on the challenge of transitioning new materials from lab-scale concepts to commercial launch, ensuring successful technology transfer and scale-up.
Experience with photopolymer formulations or similar materials is a plus. Familiarity with the 3D printing landscape and its applications in different industries will help you excel in this role. A passion for innovation and a desire to shape the future of fabrication are essential.
In this role, you will design and optimize photopolymer formulations to enhance the capabilities of 3D printing. You will lead the end-to-end transition of new materials from lab-scale concepts to commercial launch, ensuring that the technology transfer process is smooth and effective. You will establish and analyze structure-process-property relationships to understand how different formulations impact performance and usability in various applications. Your work will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product management and engineering, to ensure that new materials meet the needs of our customers and align with market demands. You will also be responsible for conducting experiments, analyzing data, and iterating on formulations based on feedback and performance metrics. Your contributions will directly impact the success of Formlabs' innovative 3D printing solutions.
