You have over 5 years of experience in product design management, leading teams to create user-centric designs that resonate with customers. Your background includes working with scaled SaaS products, and you have a strong understanding of the design process from ideation to implementation. You are adept at crafting and communicating a compelling design strategy that aligns with business goals, ensuring that every product interaction is seamless and intuitive.
You thrive in collaborative environments, partnering closely with product, engineering, research, and marketing teams to define and execute high-impact product designs. Your leadership style fosters a culture of creativity and innovation, encouraging your team to push boundaries while maintaining a high quality bar. You are passionate about mentoring designers, helping them grow their skills and craft, and you value a low-ego approach to teamwork.
You have experience integrating generative design tools and computational methodologies into creative workflows, enhancing the design process while preserving team autonomy. Your ability to navigate ambiguity and lead teams through complex design challenges sets you apart as a leader in the field.
Experience with generative design tools and LLMs is a plus, as is a background in computational design methodologies. You are familiar with the latest trends in product design and are always looking for ways to elevate the overall quality of design outputs.
In this role, you will lead the product design team at Dropbox, shaping the vision and execution of critical product features and future collaboration workflows. You will be responsible for ensuring that every interaction our customers have with our products is met with an “it just works” experience. You will craft and communicate a long-term design strategy that aligns with Dropbox's mission and values, ensuring that your team delivers high-quality designs that delight users.
You will partner closely with leadership across various functions to ensure that products are well-defined and successfully executed. This includes collaborating with product managers to define user needs, working with engineers to ensure feasibility, and engaging with marketing to align on go-to-market strategies. You will lead the design process from problem definition through to design implementation, ensuring that your team remains focused on delivering exceptional user experiences.
Fostering a healthy and collaborative culture is key to your leadership approach. You will create an environment where designers feel empowered to share ideas and take risks, ultimately driving innovation within the team. You will also be responsible for developing best-in-class designers who obsess over customer needs and move quickly in a highly ambiguous environment.
At Dropbox, we believe in the power of design to transform user experiences. You will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of designers and cross-functional partners, shaping the future of our products. We offer a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of CAD 178,500 to CAD 241,500, and the flexibility to work remotely from select locations in Canada.
