GCF ACES (Global Customer Fulfillment Amazon Customer Excellency System) is seeking a highly talented and motivated Data Engineer to join the Quantitative Business Intelligence Tools (QuBIT) team. In this role, you will be for responsible for building a data lake and implementing data pipelines from various Fulfillment and Transportation applications used to provide seamless data access/visibility across North American Customer Fulfillment (NACF) Network with visibility spanning from Fulfillment Center teams to corporate leadership. This NACF network includes hundreds of fulfillment centers charged with completing and shipping hundreds of millions of packages to customers each year! Every package we ship out is an opportunity for improvement, translating to better prices and service to our customers.
We are looking for a data engineer to develop a robust, scalable data model and optimize the consumption of data sources we require to generate unique insights about our operations/systems. You will work with other professionals developing complex systems at scale and with a focus on sustained operational excellence. Key job responsibilities
Design, implement and support an analytical data infrastructure providing ad-hoc access to large datasets and computing power
Interface with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS big data technologies
Be enthusiastic about building deep domain knowledge about Amazon’s business and the fulfillment quality space.
Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be self-driven, and deliver high quality results in a fast-paced environment.
Enjoy working closely with your peers in a group of very smart and talented engineers.
Help continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for customers
Explore and learn the latest AWS technologies to provide new capabilities and increase efficiency- 1+ years of data engineering experience
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience with one or more query language (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala)
- Experience with one or more scripting language (e.g., Python, KornShell)- Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
- Experience with any ETL tool like, Informatica, ODI, SSIS, BODI, Datastage, etc.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $91,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
