SpaceX is hiring a TIG Welder for the Starship project to weld, assemble, and fabricate various fluid systems and components. This role requires 1+ years of TIG welding experience and proficiency in reading technical drawings.
You have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and at least 1 year of experience with TIG welding, or you hold a certificate of completion for welding from an accredited program. You are detail-oriented and capable of using precision calibrated tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, and calipers. Your experience includes reading and interpreting technical drawings and following detailed work instructions. You are comfortable operating forklifts, cranes, and heavy equipment, and you have a strong understanding of safety protocols in a welding environment.
You have 5+ years of experience in welding with materials such as stainless steel, carbon steel, Inconel, aluminum, or titanium. You are highly proficient in tube cutting, grinding, and fabrication, and you have experience with aerospace TIG welding. Your skills include completing welds that pass visual inspections before being X-rayed or dye penned, and you hold AWS D17.1 and D1.2 certifications.
In this role, you will be responsible for welding, assembling, and fabricating various fluid systems and sub-assembly components for the Starship project. You will utilize precision calibrated tools to ensure the highest quality of work. You will perform your tasks according to established procedures, specifications, and test instructions, ensuring that all work meets the required standards. You will also be expected to operate various mechanical tools and perform blending, filing, and shearing of sheet metal piece parts. Additionally, you will assist in maintaining an efficient and effective work environment by performing other related duties as assigned.
