This role requires strong visual design skills and experience in user-centered design.

Job Description

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in product design, particularly in creating user-centered solutions that simplify complex workflows. Your strong visual craft is complemented by a systems thinking approach, allowing you to design products that resonate with both technical and non-technical users. You are adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring that design decisions align with engineering and business goals. You have a passion for data and understand the challenges faced by data engineers and analysts, enabling you to create impactful designs that enhance their workflows.

Desirable

Experience with data engineering tools or platforms is a plus, as is familiarity with AI-driven design solutions. You thrive in environments where you can influence product direction and are comfortable working in agile teams. Your portfolio showcases a range of projects that highlight your ability to tackle complex design challenges and deliver intuitive user experiences.

What you'll do

As a Senior Product Designer at Databricks, you will own the end-to-end design of the Lakeflow Connect ingestion experience. This includes defining how users discover, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot their data ingestion pipelines. You will create experiences that cater to both data engineers needing granular control and business analysts seeking ready-to-use data. Your work will shape the first impressions and ongoing trust for thousands of organizations using Lakeflow Connect. You will collaborate closely with engineering and product teams in Seattle and San Francisco to ensure a cohesive user experience across the data engineering journey.

You will define AI-native data ingestion by integrating Databricks Assistant into the pipeline, enhancing user interactions and streamlining workflows. Your role will involve conducting user research, usability testing, and iterating on designs based on feedback to ensure that the final product meets user needs effectively. You will also be responsible for creating design specifications and collaborating with developers to ensure that your designs are implemented accurately.

What we offer

At Databricks, you will be part of a mission-driven team that values innovation and collaboration. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including opportunities for professional growth and development. You will work in a supportive environment that encourages creativity and experimentation, allowing you to push the boundaries of design in the data engineering space. Join us in shaping the future of data workflows and making a significant impact on how organizations leverage their data.
