Job Description

Position Summary

Amazon Ads Publisher Technology (PubTech) is an exciting program that is pioneering new experiences for Ad Publishers - Amazon first party (e.g. Prime Video, FireTV, Twitch, etc), Our mission is to build Supply Side technologies to unlock ad supported programs across various Amazon businesses. We are looking for a Software Development Engineer who can build on our early success, pioneer new programs for customers, and help define our future. As a member of the Publisher Ad Server team, you will spend your time as a hands-on engineer directly impacting ad delivery, customer experience and revenue. You will play a key role in building software products and features from the ground up to experiment and enable different ad strategies. You will use a wide range of technologies, programming languages and systems. Your responsibilities will include all aspects of software development. You will have the freedom and encouragement to explore your own ideas and the reward of seeing your contributions benefit tens of millions of customers. This is very much Day 1 for PubTech so you would be joining an entrepreneurial and pioneering team that is building from scratch.

Key job responsibilities
* Understand the fundamentals (and tradeoffs) of Amazon’s advertising stacks.
* Drive technical solutions/architecture for a Publisher Ad Server that can scale to millions of customers globally.
* Design and develop robust, scalable enterprise systems with wide-ranging applications. Lead architecture for large components and implement to deliver high-impact solutions.
* Decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions with a bias toward standards based and flexible designs.
* Develop a strong culture of rapid experimentation, measurement, and iteration.
* Build relationships and earn trust with partner teams

A day in the life
You will have the opportunity to design and implement systems that delight our customers. You will also learn how things are built and deployed, brush up on operational excellence, and apply it on the job!
* Collaborate with other engineers towards broader organizational goals and projects
* Collaborate with product and program managers, principal engineers for feature definition and delivery
* Work with other Ads teams to build innovative solutions that create value for our customers
* Stay aware of developments in the Publisher Technologies (PubTech) space and upstream projects
* Contribute to technical designs- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
