Amazon is hiring an Engineering Operations Technician to maintain mission-critical technology infrastructure. You'll work with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure 99.999% uptime. This position requires hands-on troubleshooting skills and knowledge of data center operations.
As an Engineering Operations Technician, you are a critical guardian of technological infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations that power global digital experiences. You have hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting, and you are familiar with maintaining and operating mission-critical facilities. Your expertise contributes directly to maintaining an extraordinary 99.999% uptime, keeping the digital world running smoothly and efficiently.
You are comfortable working with stand-by diesel generators, three-phase electrical systems, switch gear, UPSs, PDUs, wet cell batteries, and associated systems. You understand the importance of cooling systems, including CRAC units, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, and air handlers. Your background in electrical and mechanical engineering equips you to tackle the challenges of maintaining complex systems in a data center environment.
You thrive in a collaborative environment, working alongside a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers. You are eager to learn and grow within the AWS Infrastructure Services team, which owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting the Data Center Operations Mission Critical Facilities. You will ensure that all electrical and mechanical systems are functioning optimally, which includes performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance on critical equipment. You will respond to alarms and incidents, diagnosing issues and implementing solutions to minimize downtime.
You will collaborate with your team to develop and implement best practices for equipment maintenance and operational efficiency. Your role will involve documenting procedures and maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities. You will also participate in training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge of the latest technologies and practices in data center operations.
As part of the AWS Infrastructure Services team, you will contribute to the overall success of the data centers by ensuring that all systems are operational and that any issues are resolved quickly and effectively. You will work closely with other technicians and engineers to support the infrastructure that powers AWS services.
