SpaceX is hiring a Development Test Technician to support testing of vehicle and spacecraft designs. You'll work closely with test engineers and utilize mechanical fabrication skills. This position requires 1+ years of experience in mechanical fabrication.
You have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and at least 1 year of experience in mechanical fabrication. You possess a positive attitude and work well on a team, while also being able to work independently with minimal supervision. Staying organized and having strong attention to detail are second nature to you. You can read mechanical and engineering drawings and interpret tolerances, including GD&T. You are skilled with mechanical hand tools and have knowledge or experience in fabrication processes.
As a Development Test Technician at SpaceX, you will be involved in fast-paced R&D operations that support the testing of the latest vehicle and spacecraft designs. Your responsibilities will include fabricating metallic piece parts to print using machine shop equipment such as mills and lathes. You will assemble test equipment to print, which includes on-assembly fabrication operations like precision match drilling, welding, and riveting. Additionally, you will be tasked with assembling large mechanical assemblies that require strategic part manipulation and heavy lift operations. You will also fabricate and assemble high-pressure pneumatic and hydraulic fluid systems, which involves bending, flaring, and assembling stainless steel and flexible tubing.
