Waymo is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead a team in developing enterprise-grade solutions for vehicle maintenance and uptime software. You'll work with technologies like C++, Java, and Angular, requiring 6+ years of experience in backend and frontend development.
You have a BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience, along with 6+ years of experience working with backend technologies such as C++, Java, Go, and Python. Your expertise extends to frontend development, where you have 6+ years of experience with frameworks like Angular, JavaScript, and React. You possess 5 years of people management experience and have demonstrated technical leadership in your previous roles. You are familiar with the product development life-cycle and have a strong understanding of ERP and third-party integrations. Additionally, familiarity with Google infrastructure tools such as Flume, Borg, and Protocol Buffers is preferred, as is development experience with C++ and knowledge of frontend frameworks like Dart.
In this hybrid role, you will manage a team of 4 to 6 engineers, providing guidance and support to help them excel in their roles. You will lead the technical direction of projects, ensuring that enterprise-grade solutions are developed for Waymo's partners. Your responsibilities will include standardizing ERP and third-party integrations, as well as building and managing maintenance schedules for the fleet of autonomous vehicles. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the software meets the needs of the business and contributes to the overall mission of improving access to mobility and safety on the roads. You will also be involved in the planning and execution of vehicle maintenance and uptime software, playing a crucial role in the management of Waymo's fleet.
