Google is seeking a Data Center Facilities Technician II, Electrical to manage the uptime and maintenance of electrical systems in data centers. You'll work with electrical distribution systems and troubleshooting equipment. This position requires 5+ years of electrical experience.
You have an Associate's degree, trade school certification, or equivalent practical experience in a related technical field. With 5 years of electrical experience in an industrial or commercial environment, you are well-versed in electrical testing equipment and electrical distribution. You are capable of participating in material handling tasks, including lifting and moving equipment, and are familiar with OSHA standard safety equipment. Your ability to work non-standard hours and shifts makes you adaptable to the demands of the role.
You possess knowledge of electrical systems used in data centers, including feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, and PDU/PMM units. Your experience in maintenance of electrical distribution systems or in a construction/technical environment is a strong asset. You are comfortable communicating with contractors who perform maintenance or upgrade work on data center systems, ensuring smooth operations.
As a Data Center Facilities Technician II, you will operate, monitor, and support the physical facilities conditions of Google’s data centers. Your responsibilities will include managing the uptime and maintenance of UPS, generators, electrical distribution, and control and monitoring systems. You will respond to abnormal conditions in the data center facilities systems and equipment, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally.
You will support the startup, commissioning, and integration of new electrical equipment and systems into the facilities infrastructure. Your role will require you to assess the working order of systems and manage their maintenance effectively. You will be part of a team that designs and operates sophisticated electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and HVAC systems, contributing to the overall efficiency and reliability of the data center operations.
