Google is seeking a Senior Data Scientist Manager for their Health Product team to lead analytics efforts and drive strategic decisions. You'll leverage your expertise in Python, R, and SQL to provide insights that impact health outcomes. This role requires 13+ years of experience in analytics and 5+ years in a management position.

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field, along with 13 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems. Your background includes performing statistical analysis and coding in languages such as Python, R, and SQL. If you hold a Master's degree, you can qualify with 10 years of experience. You have at least 5 years of experience as a people manager in a technical leadership role, demonstrating your ability to guide and mentor teams effectively.

Your expertise in analytics allows you to serve as a trusted advisor, providing quantitative support and market understanding to partners across the organization. You excel at weaving stories from data, making complex insights accessible to stakeholders, and driving critical recommendations for product and business decisions. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with engineering and product management teams to align on priorities and anticipate analytical needs.

Desirable

A Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred, along with 15 years of experience in analytics and 6 years in a managerial role. Your experience should include a strong focus on health-related products or services, enabling you to contribute effectively to Google's mission of improving health outcomes for billions of people.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the data science strategy for the Health organization, setting the direction for analytics initiatives that support product development and business operations. You will oversee cross-functional projects that anticipate and develop the necessary data sets, tools, and processes to scale data science capabilities. Your leadership will ensure that the analytics team is equipped to provide timely and impactful insights that drive decision-making.

You will collaborate with various teams, including data engineering and business operations, to create a cohesive approach to data analysis and reporting. Your role will involve mentoring team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement, and ensuring alignment on strategic priorities across the organization. You will also be responsible for communicating findings and recommendations to senior leadership, helping to shape the future direction of health products at Google.
