Datadog is seeking a Lead Sales Manager to drive new customer acquisition and provide mentorship to the commercial account executives. This role requires experience in direct sales within innovative technology sectors, particularly SaaS and Cloud.

Who you are

You have a proven track record in direct sales, ideally within innovative technology sectors such as SaaS or Cloud. Your experience includes managing outbound sales teams and successfully closing deals, demonstrating your ability to lead and motivate a team towards achieving their goals. You understand the importance of accurate forecasting and have a keen eye for metrics that drive performance improvement. Your coaching and mentorship skills are strong, and you are passionate about supporting your team members' growth and success. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are a self-starter who can adapt to the rapidly changing market landscape. You value collaboration and creativity, fostering a positive office culture that enhances team dynamics.

Desirable

While not mandatory, experience in infrastructure sales or similar fields will be advantageous. A willingness to continuously learn and develop your skills is highly encouraged, as is a passion for technology and its potential to transform businesses.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead a team of commercial account executives focused on acquiring new customers in the small to medium-sized business sector. You will provide strategic direction and hands-on mentorship to ensure your team is equipped to succeed in their sales efforts. Your responsibilities will include maintaining high accuracy and consistency in forecasting, as well as facilitating lead generation activities through outbound sales initiatives. You will monitor the sales funnel from prospecting to closing, creating metrics that help improve performance and drive results. Supporting new team members in their onboarding process will be crucial, as you guide them towards achieving their first successes in the role.
