Overview

Google is seeking a Staff Interaction Designer for Workspace Labs to lead design projects and create intuitive user experiences. You'll work with Figma and collaborate across teams to launch consumer-facing products. This role requires 6+ years of interaction design experience.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 6 years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design. Your portfolio showcases your ability to design and prototype using Figma, demonstrating your expertise in creating user-friendly interfaces. You have experience designing, building, or launching consumer-facing products, which has equipped you with a strong understanding of user needs and behaviors. A Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or Computer Science is preferred, along with 3 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization. You have led design projects for at least 2 years, showcasing your ability to manage initiatives and influence stakeholders effectively.

What you'll do

In this role, you will own the end-to-end experience of design projects, from ideation to final specifications. You will collaborate with other Workspace teams to integrate innovative experiences into their products, ensuring that user needs are met at every stage of development. Your ability to influence executive leaders and cross-functional partners will be crucial in shipping impactful products that resonate with users. You will lead initiatives that align large groups of people to solve common problems, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages creativity and innovation. Throughout the design process, you will create user flows, wireframes, and prototypes, bringing your vision to life in a way that feels inspired and refined. Your work will directly impact how billions of users interact with Google products, making your role vital to the company's mission of focusing on the user.
