Amazon is hiring a Mechanical Engineer for the Ring Hardware team to design and validate mechanical systems for innovative devices. You'll lead projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams, utilizing skills in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
You are a Mechanical Engineer with experience in designing and developing mechanical systems for consumer electronics. You have a strong background in leading complex technical projects and mentoring junior engineers, ensuring that innovative hardware solutions meet customer needs. You are proficient in creating and optimizing 3D CAD models and mechanical assemblies, and you understand the importance of design for manufacturability, reliability, and cost optimization. You are familiar with conducting structural, thermal, and vibration analyses, and you have experience in developing mechanical test plans and validating designs through prototyping. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with industrial design, electrical, and manufacturing teams to deliver high-quality products. You are also open to leveraging AI tools and methodologies to enhance mechanical design processes and outcomes.
Experience with advanced materials and manufacturing technologies is a plus, as is familiarity with AI-driven solutions for mechanical engineering challenges. You are eager to stay updated on industry trends and continuously improve your skills.
In this role, you will lead mechanical design projects from concept through production, ensuring that all designs meet the required specifications and standards. You will create detailed engineering drawings with proper GD&T and select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes based on product requirements. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting and resolving complex mechanical issues, as well as documenting designs, test results, and technical specifications. You will manage relationships with external vendors and manufacturing partners, ensuring that all components are delivered on time and meet quality standards. Additionally, you will collaborate with data scientists to develop AI-driven solutions that address mechanical engineering challenges, enhancing the overall design process.
