Google is seeking an Engineering Manager II for their Top of Rack Infrastructure team. Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 8 years of experience in software development. With at least 3 years in a technical leadership role and 2 years in people management, you are well-versed in guiding teams to success. Your expertise in C++ software development and networking makes you a strong candidate for this position. You thrive in complex, matrixed organizations and are comfortable navigating the challenges that come with them. You understand the importance of optimizing code not just for yourself but also for your team, ensuring that best practices are followed across the board. You are passionate about mentoring engineers and helping them grow in their careers.

Desirable

A Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field is preferred, as is experience working in a large-scale environment. You have a track record of managing project goals and contributing to product strategy, which will be invaluable in this role. Your ability to design, guide, and vet systems designs will help meet anticipated future requirements and infrastructure needs.

What you'll do

As an Engineering Manager II at Google, you will lead a team of engineers working on Top of Rack Infrastructure. You will oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally, ensuring that your team is aligned with project goals and timelines. Your role will involve reviewing code developed by other engineers, providing feedback to ensure adherence to best practices in style, accuracy, testability, and efficiency.
