Coupang is hiring a Mechanical Engineer for their Logistics Automation team to maintain and troubleshoot automated logistics equipment. You'll work with PLCs, inverters, and HMIs to ensure optimal performance of logistics systems. This role requires over 3 years of experience in mechanical or electrical control.
You have over 3 years of experience in mechanical or electrical control, demonstrating a strong understanding of automation systems. You hold relevant certifications in mechanical or electrical fields, showcasing your technical expertise. Your experience includes improving automated equipment, specifically with conveyors and sorters, which is essential for this role. You are capable of working in shifts, including both day and night rotations, and are comfortable with driving as part of your responsibilities. You have a proactive approach to problem-solving and are skilled in communicating with vendors to enhance equipment performance.
Experience with PLC logic, inverter parameter adjustments, or HMI design and modifications will set you apart. Familiarity with spare parts management and ERP systems is a plus, as is hands-on experience with equipment setup, particularly with wheel sorters and tilt tray sorters. You have a background in designing and maintaining electrical and mechanical systems within logistics centers, which will be beneficial in this position.
In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance and troubleshooting of automated logistics equipment at various sub-hub and camp locations. You will conduct regular inspections and diagnostics on equipment such as conveyors, wheel sorters, and autobaggers, ensuring they operate efficiently. Your role includes managing daily issues and providing solutions to prevent future problems, which is critical for maintaining high service levels. You will also be involved in vendor communication and improvement activities, collaborating closely with external partners to enhance equipment reliability.
You will oversee the management of equipment history and reporting, ensuring that all maintenance activities are documented accurately. Additionally, you will develop training programs for engineers, focusing on career development and skill enhancement. Your proactive approach will help in identifying potential issues before they escalate, contributing to the overall efficiency of the logistics operations.
