Job Description

The goal of Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is to build a world class last mile operation. We aim to exceed the expectations of our customers by ensuring that their orders are delivered quickly, accurately, and in the most cost-effective way possible. This role is for an experienced, passionate, dynamic, analytical, innovative, hands-on, and customer obsessed individual.

The Last Mile Planning Team provides AMZL with cost-optimal and flexible solutions for in-station operations, year-round and enabling the business to scale for seasonal peak demand increases. The ideal candidate is passionate about leveraging data to deliver insights that impact daily business, has a strong delivery record and experienced in driving execution in a cross-functional environment, backed by analysis and data. They thrive in a fast-paced environment, relish working with large transactional volumes and big data and enjoy the challenge of highly complex, and sometimes, ambiguous, business context.

The Senior Manager, Last Mile Planning, will work in a fast-paced, fluid environment and communicate business conditions and decisions effectively with stakeholders across multiple groups and levels – from warehouse associates to various Amazon Directors and VPs. In this role, they will seek out problems, dive deep into data, earn trust of partner teams, and deliver results that can have a large-scale influence. This role is a blend of short-term execution and long-term strategic planning, that requires quick decision-making, with incomplete data, while also thinking big and influencing the long term direction of the network. The end goal of this role is to answer the question of how we can fulfill more products to our customers in a safer, faster, more efficient, and more cost-effective manner.


Key job responsibilities
- Demonstrate strong customer focus
- Make sound business judgments to drive both tactical as well as strategic improvements
- Own programmatic execution and the detailed and strategic levels
- Identify, prioritize, and implement processes to eliminate defects in the supply chain
- Create, develop, and drive solutions that lead to a richer end to end customer experience
- Execute thorough root cause analysis and deliver results
- Successfully operate and influence in a cross-functional capacity


A day in the life

- 7+ years of team management experience
- 8+ years of supply chain experience
- 7+ years of cross functional project delivery experience
- Bachelor's degree
- English and Spanish Advanced- Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
- 7+ years of managing teams experience
- 6+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
