Visiting Researcher, AI Mentorship Program (PhD)

Meta is seeking Visiting Researchers to join Meta AI through a short-term contract. About Meta AI: We are committed to advancing the field of artificial intelligence by making fundamental advances in scientific methods and technologies to help interact with and understand our world. We are seeking individuals passionate in areas such as machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, audio and speech processing, natural language processing, reinforcement learning, and computational statistics. This position is short-term employment for PhD students enrolled at the University of Washington, Carnegie Mellon University, University of California, Berkeley, or New York University’s Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences (CIMS) or Center for Data Science (CDS). Students will collaborate with Meta and their university, working part-time during the academic school year and full-time over the summer break. Students will be expected to work onsite at a Meta office near their university. The duration of the AI Mentorship Program is one year, with the potential to extend through a second year depending on performance. Applications for the 2026-27 cohort will be open November 17 to January 9, and the program will begin fall 2026.
