Job Description

Who you are

You have over 5 years of professional software development experience in a product-driven environment, demonstrating your ability to thrive in fast-paced settings. Your expertise spans the full software development lifecycle, from design to deployment, ensuring that you can contribute effectively to all stages of the process.

Your strong background in cloud engineering, particularly with AWS, allows you to build and maintain scalable, event-driven architectures. You understand the intricacies of cloud services and can leverage them to enhance application performance and reliability.

You possess a solid understanding of DevOps principles, including CI/CD practices and infrastructure as code (IaC). Your experience in configuring and optimizing CI/CD pipelines ensures that you can streamline development processes and improve deployment efficiency.

You are familiar with observability and reliability best practices, owning operational responsibilities for microservices. Your ability to implement monitoring, logging, and alerting strategies ensures that systems remain robust and responsive to issues as they arise.

Collaboration is key to your work ethic; you enjoy working closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver high-quality solutions. Your communication skills enable you to articulate technical concepts clearly and work effectively within a team.

You are open to participating in on-call support rotations, demonstrating your commitment to maintaining critical systems and ensuring their availability. You believe in continuous improvement and are eager to grow both personally and professionally while contributing to team processes.

Desirable

Experience with additional programming languages or frameworks is a plus, as is familiarity with agile methodologies. You may also have insights into user experience design, which can enhance your contributions to product development.

What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer at Xometry, you will play a crucial role in the Post Order/Order Management team. Your primary responsibilities will include designing, coding, testing, and releasing software solutions that meet the needs of our users. You will work across the stack, ensuring that all components of the application are well-integrated and function seamlessly.

You will configure, optimize, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines, ensuring that our deployment processes are efficient and reliable. Your expertise in infrastructure as code will allow you to automate and manage our cloud resources effectively, contributing to a more agile development environment.

Building and maintaining scalable, event-driven architectures using AWS services will be a key part of your role. You will leverage AWS tools to enhance the performance and scalability of our applications, ensuring that they can handle increasing loads as our user base grows.

You will take ownership of operational responsibilities for team microservices, implementing best practices for monitoring, logging, and alerting. This will involve setting up observability tools and ensuring that any issues are promptly addressed to maintain system reliability.

Collaboration will be at the heart of your work. You will engage with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver high-quality solutions that meet user needs. Your ability to communicate effectively will help bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Participating in an on-call rotation for critical systems will be part of your responsibilities, ensuring that you are available to address any urgent issues that may arise. You will also contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, sharing insights and suggestions for enhancing team processes and workflows.
