Overview

DoorDash is hiring a Senior Regional Merchant Lead for their New Verticals team to drive partnerships with local merchants in grocery, convenience, and retail sectors. This role requires proven outside sales experience and the ability to manage a full sales cycle.

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in outside sales, ideally in a fast-paced environment where you have successfully managed the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals. You are skilled at building relationships with local and regional merchants, understanding their needs, and tailoring solutions to meet those needs. Your ability to negotiate revenue share agreements and sell multi-product solutions is a key strength. You thrive in a role that requires creativity and quick thinking, especially when developing new categories in a competitive market.

You are a self-starter who can work independently while also being a collaborative team player. You understand the importance of merchant selection in driving growth and customer acquisition, and you are motivated by the impact your work has on the marketplace. You are comfortable with change and can adapt to the evolving landscape of local commerce.

Desirable

Experience in the grocery, convenience, or retail sectors is a plus, as is familiarity with the DoorDash platform. You have a track record of exceeding sales targets and a deep understanding of the local market dynamics in the cities you will be working in. Your strong communication skills enable you to effectively pitch and negotiate with potential partners.

What you'll do

As a Senior Regional Merchant Lead, you will own the full sales cycle for onboarding new non-restaurant partners onto DoorDash. This includes identifying opportunities, pitching to potential partners, negotiating deals, and closing agreements. You will work closely with the New Verticals team to expand DoorDash's offerings beyond restaurants into new categories such as grocery, convenience, and retail. Your role will involve building meaningful partnerships with standout local and regional merchants, helping them grow and meet customer needs.

You will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies that align with DoorDash's goals in emerging markets. This includes conducting market research to identify potential partners, understanding their business needs, and tailoring DoorDash's offerings to fit those needs. You will also negotiate revenue share agreements and sell multi-product solutions to enhance the value proposition for merchants.

In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new partners. You will track and report on sales metrics, providing insights to the leadership team on market trends and partner performance. Your ability to think creatively and move quickly will be essential as you help shape the future of local commerce with DoorDash.
