Job Description

Position Overview: Tempus AI is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Government Affairs Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our government relations efforts, advocating for policies that promote the growth and ethical use of AI technologies, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments related to AI and technology.
  • Assist in the development and execution of government affairs strategies to influence policy decisions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key government officials, policymakers, and industry stakeholders.
  • Prepare briefing materials, policy papers, and presentations for internal and external use.
  • Coordinate and attend meetings, hearings, and events with government representatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align government affairs initiatives with business objectives.
  • Support the preparation of reports and updates on government affairs activities for senior management.
  • Conduct research on emerging issues and trends in AI policy and regulation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or a related field.
  • Experience in lobbying and advocacy efforts.
  • Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex policy issues and develop strategic recommendations.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with government officials and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for AI and technology, and a commitment to ethical practices in the industry.
