You'll leverage your expertise in AML regulations and risk management to ensure adherence across the organization. This role requires 6+ years of experience in compliance or risk management.
You have over 6 years of experience in compliance, anti-money laundering (AML), or risk management — your background has equipped you with a strong understanding of the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA) and the Risk-Based Approach to Anti-Money Laundering (RPAA). You possess excellent analytical skills, allowing you to assess complex compliance issues effectively, and your communication skills enable you to convey regulatory requirements clearly to diverse stakeholders. Your project management skills are top-notch, ensuring that compliance initiatives are executed efficiently and effectively.
Having worked in a high-growth fintech environment, you understand the unique challenges and opportunities that come with rapid scaling. You may hold a certified compliance designation, such as the Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), which further demonstrates your commitment to the field. Bonus points if you have experience acting as a Chief Anti-Money Laundering Officer (CAMLO) or have a solid understanding of SQL, as this will enhance your ability to analyze data and support compliance efforts.
In this role, you will develop, implement, and monitor internal compliance policies and procedures to ensure that Venn adheres to all relevant regulations. Staying up to date with regulatory changes is crucial, and you will lead efforts to ensure company-wide compliance. Conducting internal audits and risk assessments will be part of your responsibilities, allowing you to identify potential compliance issues before they escalate.
You will lead regulatory reporting and liaise with authorities as needed, ensuring that Venn maintains a strong relationship with regulatory bodies. Training staff on compliance and regulatory best practices will be essential, as you will help cultivate a culture of compliance throughout the organization. Additionally, you will support due diligence and third-party vendor reviews, ensuring that all partners align with Venn's compliance standards.
Investigating and resolving compliance issues or breaches will be a critical aspect of your role, requiring you to act decisively and effectively to mitigate risks. Your expertise will not only help protect Venn but also contribute to the overall integrity of the fintech industry in Canada.
Venn offers a competitive base salary with an uncapped commission structure, allowing you to directly benefit from your success. You will have the opportunity to own a significant equity stake in the company, aligning your success with Venn's growth trajectory.
