Technical Lead Manager, Cider

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 8 years of experience in software development using one or more programming languages such as Go, Python, C++, or TypeScript. Your experience includes at least 3 years in a technical leadership role, where you've overseen projects and guided teams. Additionally, you have 2 years of experience in people management, supervising or leading teams, and 2 years in product development or product engineering. A Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is preferred, along with 3 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems.

You possess the technical expertise to provide leadership on major projects while managing a team of engineers. You not only optimize your own code but also ensure that your team can optimize theirs. You are adept at managing project goals, contributing to product strategy, and developing your team. Your work spans various areas, including information retrieval, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, distributed computing, and large-scale system design.

What you'll do

As a Technical Lead Manager at Google, you will define and drive the technical outlook and roadmap for the systems and services that make up the Cider team. You will collaborate with engineering partners across Google to understand their needs and ensure that the tools you develop meet the evolving challenges of a massive and complex codebase. Your role will involve ensuring the reliability, performance, and trustworthiness of data pipelines, guiding your team through technical challenges, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

You will be responsible for mentoring engineers, helping them grow in their careers, and ensuring that they have the resources and support needed to succeed. You will also play a key role in project management, balancing technical leadership with team management to achieve project goals effectively. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of the engineering teams you oversee.
