Overview

Groupon is seeking a Director of Strategic Finance to lead the financial strategy for their Demand Engine. You'll work closely with the CFO and CMO to turn marketing spend into measurable growth. This role requires a strong background in finance and strategic decision-making.

You have extensive experience in strategic finance, ideally with a focus on marketing and growth initiatives. Your analytical skills are top-notch, allowing you to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights that drive business decisions. You understand the nuances of marketing spend and its impact on overall business performance, and you are adept at communicating these insights to stakeholders at all levels.

You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with cross-functional teams to align financial strategies with marketing objectives. Your leadership style fosters innovation and encourages team members to take calculated risks. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and can pivot strategies based on evolving market conditions.

Your experience includes developing financial models that support marketing initiatives, and you have a proven track record of turning data into strategic recommendations. You are passionate about helping businesses grow and succeed, particularly in a marketplace that values local businesses.

Desirable

Experience in e-commerce or marketplace businesses is a plus, as is familiarity with performance marketing metrics. What you'll do

As the Director of Strategic Finance at Groupon, you will be the financial architect of our Demand Engine, reporting directly to the CFO. Your primary responsibility will be to transform marketing spend into provable, incremental growth. This involves developing and implementing financial strategies that align with marketing goals, ensuring that every dollar spent contributes to measurable outcomes.

You will collaborate closely with the CMO to refine marketing strategies based on financial insights. Your role will also involve mentoring and guiding a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and strategic thinking. You will be responsible for presenting financial analyses and recommendations to senior leadership, ensuring that financial considerations are integrated into marketing strategies.
