Overview

Amazon is hiring an Engineering Operations Technician to maintain mission-critical technology infrastructure. You'll work with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure 99.999% uptime. This role requires hands-on troubleshooting skills and knowledge of data center operations.

Who you are

You are an entry-level Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems — you understand the intricacies of data center operations and are eager to learn on the job. Your hands-on experience with troubleshooting equipment will be invaluable as you maintain critical infrastructure. You have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to ensuring that systems operate seamlessly, contributing to an extraordinary uptime of 99.999%. You thrive in collaborative environments and are excited to work alongside a diverse team of engineers and specialists.

Desirable

Experience with diesel generators and three-phase electrical systems is a plus, as is familiarity with cooling systems and UPS technology. You are adaptable and willing to take on new challenges as you grow in your role. A background in AWS infrastructure services or similar environments will help you excel in this position.

What you'll do

As an Engineering Operations Technician at Amazon, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting mission-critical facilities. Your role will involve hands-on work with stand-by diesel generators, switch gear, UPSs, PDUs, and various cooling systems. You will ensure that all equipment operates efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overall reliability of our data centers. You will collaborate with other technicians and engineers to identify and resolve issues quickly, minimizing downtime and maintaining service quality.

You will also participate in routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks, ensuring that all systems are compliant with safety and operational standards. Your ability to analyze problems and implement solutions will be crucial in maintaining the integrity of our infrastructure. You will document your findings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping to enhance operational efficiency.
