Netflix is seeking a Senior Manager/Principal Counsel for Business Affairs & Legal Affairs focused on Original Series, Drama. You'll negotiate and draft various talent agreements and oversee legal affairs throughout production. This role requires strong experience in legal negotiations within the entertainment industry.
You have extensive experience in business and legal affairs, particularly within the entertainment industry, and are adept at negotiating and drafting complex agreements. Your background includes working closely with creative teams and understanding the intricacies of scripted original drama series. You possess strong interpersonal skills, allowing you to build strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You are detail-oriented and capable of navigating complex legal matters that arise during the production lifecycle. Your ability to work collaboratively with various departments, including Creative, Production, and Marketing, is essential for success in this role. You are committed to fostering diversity and inclusion within your team and the broader organization.
In this role, you will negotiate and draft a variety of agreements, including rights, writer, showrunner, producer, director, and actor contracts. You will oversee business and legal affairs for series projects from script development through post-production and exhibition on Netflix’s global streaming service. Your responsibilities will include managing the legal aspects of the production lifecycle and ensuring compliance with industry standards. You will support internal partners and stakeholders, providing legal guidance and strategic insights to help manage the drama slate effectively. Additionally, you will develop and maintain relationships with external parties, ensuring that all agreements align with Netflix's goals and values.
