Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, along with 15 years of experience as a technical software engineering leader. Your background includes significant engineering experience in AI, particularly in Applied AI or GenAI, and you have a proven track record in software development and implementation. You possess deep technical expertise in building large-scale machine learning systems and a solid understanding of ML models, algorithm design, and their real-world applications. Your ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across teams is essential, as you will create a shared vision for the future of GenAI at YouTube.

You are a visionary leader who has successfully driven technical innovation in large-scale, user-facing products. Your experience includes working with executives and senior engineering leads to productize new technologies, and you are comfortable guiding technical discussions and reviewing designs. You thrive in collaborative environments and are passionate about leveraging AI to transform user experiences.

Desirable

A Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related field is preferred, along with a strong background in engineering leadership. Experience in building large-scale consumer products and a track record of successful collaboration with cross-functional teams will set you apart.

What you'll do

In this role, you will set the technical roadmap for GenAI on the YouTube Create app, working closely with executives and senior engineering leads across YouTube and Google Research/DeepMind. You will be responsible for driving and coordinating collaboration across teams to ensure the successful productization of GenAI technologies. Your leadership will guide the team in tackling novel problems and making short- and long-term technology investments that benefit all of YouTube.

You will communicate the product vision for GenAI with engineers, researchers, and other cross-functional partners, ensuring alignment and clarity in objectives. Your role will involve reviewing technical designs from the team and guiding discussions to foster innovation and technical excellence. You will also be instrumental in scaling learnings from the YouTube Create app to the broader YouTube platform, contributing to the overall strategy and vision of the company.
