Job Description

Cloud Database Engineer I
Job Description Summary:
We are looking for a mid-level professional with 3–5 years of experience who can effectively manage both project coordination and database engineering responsibilities. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of technical execution and project delivery. You will be responsible for coordinating cross-functional teams, tracking project milestones, and ensuring timely delivery, while also designing, optimizing, and maintaining database systems that support business operations and analytics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate project activities, timelines, and deliverables across technical and business teams
• Maintain project documentation, track risks, and support stakeholder communication
  • Design and implement efficient, scalable database solutions (SQL/NoSQL)
  • Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring data integrity and security
   • Collaborate with developers, analysts, and QA teams to support data-driven initiatives
  • Contribute to process improvements and automation in both project and data workflows
    
 Job Description:
·       Database Installation and Configuration: Exposure in the installation and configuration of Database Server instances and databases, ensuring proper settings for security, performance, and high availability.
·       Working experience with automation and scripting technologies (Python/PowerShell/Ansible/Shell Scripts/TSQL/PLSQL), as well as cloud native tools such as Terraforms and Git/GitHub.
·       Cloud Portals: Hands on in the use of public cloud hyperscale portals for database operations.
·       Routine Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance tasks such as database consistency checks, index maintenance, and statistics updates to ensure optimal database performance.
·       Monitoring and Alerting: Monitoring database systems, analyzing performance metrics, and responding to alerts to proactively address potential issues and ensure high availability.
·       Backup and Recovery: Managing database backup and recovery processes, ensuring regular backups and testing recovery procedures to minimize data loss and downtime in case of failures or disasters.
·       Security Management: Assisting in managing user access, permissions, and roles, as well as implementing and maintaining database security best practices to protect sensitive data.
·       Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Participating in the diagnosis and resolution of database-related issues, including performance problems, connectivity issues, and errors to maintain system reliability.
·       High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Experience in high availability and disaster recovery techniques and working experience with DR drills. Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate documentation of database configurations, changes, and operational procedures, as well as generating reports on database health and performance.
·       Collaboration and Support: Collaborating with other teams such as development, system administrators, and network engineers to provide support for database-related initiatives and projects.
·       Compliance and Best Practices: Ensuring that database systems comply with industry regulations and best practices, including data governance, privacy regulations, and security standards.
·       Participate in rotational shifts/24X7 production support for database infrastructure along with members of the other database services teams.
