Job Description

In this Product Technical Program Management role, the TPM will be part of accessories Product development for Amazon 1P products. The TPM will work with other engineering partner teams to manage end to end software development, test, and enhance Amazon-branded accessories that delight our customers.

This role is inherently cross-functional and works closely with Product Managers, System Technical Program Managers, Software Technical Program Managers, as well as external Original Design Manufacturer developers and testers to bring new software experiences to market.

The TPM will be a highly effective individual contributor and self-learner on a variety of technologies to develop and manage new software features while working closely with partner teams.

Key job responsibilities
We are looking for passionate, hard-working, and talented Technical Program Manager who have experience managing and building software features that customers love. This is a high-visibility team where you will get a chance to positively impact the customer experience.

This position requires broad engineering competency in software development on devices and a good understanding of operating systems and system platforms, along with strong program management and testing capabilities.


A day in the life

Your day will involve working with on new product concepts, debating software engineering design, meeting cross functional teams and ODM partners and brainstorming with core team. You will own the software architecture and design and deliverables end to end and regularly represent Software group and present status to the leadership team.

About the team
ComPAS (Companion Products & Services) team delivers 1P accessories and companion devices for multiple product verticals such as E-readers, Tablets, Fire TV, Echo, and Smart Home with both in-box and standalone products, at world class margins.

We are a team that brings out consumer electronics from the concept stage to final delivery to end customers. We are a 2-pizza team that is highly agile, fast and delivers! Its like a start-up within the larger devices’ organization.

TPM team within ComPAS is responsible for leading the hardware product development of Amazon branded companion devices, end to end, from concept to delivery. Our team is growing and needs new talent to increase the capabilities of our current team to build more smart connected products.

- 2+ years of software development experience
- 3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience in technical program management working directly with software engineering teams- 3+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- Experience in technical product or program management
- Experience with embedded software programming
- Experience building consumer electronic devices

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
