SpaceX is hiring a Test Specialist for the Starlink project to ensure the proper operation of optical test systems and develop automated hardware test systems. You'll work with technologies like Linux and Python in Redmond.
You have a strong background in test engineering, particularly in optical test systems, and possess the ability to troubleshoot and interpret test logs and telemetry effectively. Your experience includes building and validating automated hardware test systems for production environments, ensuring that all systems operate smoothly and efficiently. You are skilled in fabricating and repairing cable harnesses, including crimping, soldering, and assembling connectors, which is essential for maintaining high-quality testing standards. You have a knack for designing and implementing assembly fixtures and shop aides that improve manufacturing and testing processes, showcasing your innovative approach to problem-solving. You are also capable of identifying training needs and developing training programs for production technicians on new or updated testing procedures, ensuring that the team is well-equipped to handle the latest technologies.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that optical test systems and areas are operating properly, which is critical for the success of the Starlink project. You will conduct first-level triage of test failures by reading and interpreting test logs and telemetry, allowing for quick resolutions to issues that arise.
