Who you are

You have a strong background in test engineering, particularly in optical test systems, and possess the ability to troubleshoot and interpret test logs and telemetry effectively. Your experience includes building and validating automated hardware test systems for production environments, ensuring that all systems operate smoothly and efficiently. You are skilled in fabricating and repairing cable harnesses, including crimping, soldering, and assembling connectors, which is essential for maintaining high-quality testing standards. You have a knack for designing and implementing assembly fixtures and shop aides that improve manufacturing and testing processes, showcasing your innovative approach to problem-solving. You are also capable of identifying training needs and developing training programs for production technicians on new or updated testing procedures, ensuring that the team is well-equipped to handle the latest technologies.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that optical test systems and areas are operating properly, which is critical for the success of the Starlink project. You will conduct first-level triage of test failures by reading and interpreting test logs and telemetry, allowing for quick resolutions to issues that arise. Your primary focus will be on building and validating automated hardware test systems that are essential for a production environment, ensuring that testing processes are efficient and reliable. You will also fabricate and repair cable harnesses, which involves crimping, soldering, and assembling connectors to maintain the integrity of the test systems. Additionally, you will design and implement assembly fixtures and shop aides that enhance manufacturing and testing processes, contributing to the overall efficiency of the team. As part of your responsibilities, you will identify, develop, and provide training to production technicians on new or updated testing procedures, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
